police report

  1. Theft from Vehicle, 1100 Block East King Street (LT) – A resident of the 1100 Block East King Street reported that an amplifier and speaker were stolen from his unlocked vehicle that was parked in the 1100 Block of East King Street. Occurred overnight January 26-27, 2010. Loss $750.

  1. Burglary, January 27, 2010, 500 Block Misty Drive (LT) – A resident of the 500 Block Misty Drive reported that his apartment was entered sometime during the morning hours of January 27, 2010. A GPS, Playstation, and a radar detector were taken. Loss $750.

transition

We're going through some changes at the building, both the interior as well as with the file server.  Oh, that and the audit.  Thanks for your patience, we should now be back to regular access and regular updates.

Tuesday, Jan 26 will be our Zoning Hearing Board meeting - check our website for the agenda.

This past Tuesday's Planning Commission included a County presentation of  Envision Lancaster, a review of a new parking lot along Elm ave, and a continuing review of our Township Zoning Ordinance.  Please check our website for full minutes.

police blotter

We saw a number of incidents of vandalism and car break-ins over the weekend.  Please keep your vehicles locks and bring any valuables inside.  Here are the locations of the various incidents.

Criminal Mischief (LT) – Six persons reported damage to the outside mirrors on their vehicles, which occurred overnight January 9-10, 2010, in Lancaster Township.


• XXXXXX of Lancaster reported her mirror was kicked while parked in the 1100 Block of Maple Avenue. Loss $300

• XXXXXX of Lancaster reported that was kicked while parked in the 1100 Block of Maple Avenue. Loss $300.

• XXXXXX of Lancaster reported that her mirror was kicked while parked in the 100 Block of South President Avenue. Loss $300.

• XXXXXX of Lancaster reported that her mirror was damaged while parked in the 1100 Block of Watson Avenue.

• XXXXXX of Lancaster reported that his mirror was damaged while parked in the 100 Block of South President Avenue. Loss $300.

• XXXXXX of Lancaster reported that his mirror was knocked off while parked in the 300 Block Perry Avenue. Loss $300.

7) Theft from Vehicle, 500 Block Kensington Terrace (LT) – XXXXXX of Lancaster reported that a window on her vehicle was smashed sometime overnight January 7-8, 2010, while the vehicle was parked in the 500 Block of Kensington Terrace. A purse was taken. Theft loss $170.


8) Theft from Vehicle, January 7, 2010, 1319 Millersville Pike (LT) – XXXXXX reported that a wallet was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while he was at Planet Fitness, 1319 Millersville Pike, during the morning of January 7, 2010. Loss $170.

11) Criminal Mischief, 8:00 p.m. January 8, 2010, 1003 East King Street (LT) – Advanced Auto, 1003 East King Street, reported that the electrical box for the business was damaged at 8:00 p.m. January 8, 2010, affecting the power inside the business. Loss $500.

12) Criminal Mischief, Spencer Avenue (LT) – XXXXXX reported that windows on her vehicle were smashed while the vehicle was parked in the first block of Spencer Avenue overnight January 8-9, 2010. Loss $175.

Christmas Tree Disposal

Please be reminded that Christmas trees included with trash removal will now require a $4.00 red service tag. Tags can be purchased at the Lancaster Township Office.

Trees can also be dropped off at a designated area at the Township Maintenance Facility located at 1357 Meadowcreek Lane, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Trees may also be dropped off at the County's Central Park.

1) Shots Fired Investigation, 1:00 a.m. January 2, 2010, 1492 Lititz Pike (MT) – Officers were sent to a report of shots having been fired outside of the Days Inn, 1492 Lititz Pike, at 1:00 a.m. January 2, 2010, following a disturbance inside. There were no injuries. Manheim Township Detectives are currently investigating. Any person with information on the incident is asked to contact the Manheim Township Police at (717) 569-6401 or the Manheim Township Police Anonymous Crime Tip Line at (717) 569-2816.

2) Theft, January 2, 2010, 30 Keller Avenue (MT) – Donald Schiffer of Shinglehouse, PA, reported that his laptop was taken from his room at the Rodeway Inn, 30 Keller Avenue, Manheim Township, sometime during the day on January 2, 2010. Loss $600.

3) Public Drunkenness Arrest, 4:39 a.m. January 2, 2010, 6400 Block Lemon Street (EP) – Kian L. Kianzad M/18 of East Petersburg, was arrested for Public Drunkenness and Underage Drinking by Officer Natalie Littlehale. Kianzad knocked on the back door of a residence in the 6400 Block of Lemon Street at 4:39 a.m. January 2, 2010, and entered the residence when the homeowner opened the door. He was released to a family member.

4) Theft of Services, 2:25 a.m. January 2, 2010, 1021 Dillerville Road (MT) – Waffle House, 1021 Dillerville Road, Manheim Township, reported that a male and female customer were stopped as they tried to leave without paying for their $11.33 bill. When confronted, they ran to their vehicle and drove away. The investigation is continuing.

5) Retail Theft Charge (MT) – Officer David Onda filed a criminal complaint for Retail Theft against Matthew R. Keller M/24 of Lincoln Highway East, Ronks. On December 9, 2009, Keller pumped $42 worth of fuel into his vehicle at the Turkey Hill, 1501 Manheim Pike. A clerk who ran after the fleeing vehicle found that the plate had been covered. Keller was later identified by Officer Onda. The complaint was filed before MDJ David Miller.

6) Identity Theft Charge (EP) – Officer Natalie Littlehale filed a criminal complaint for Identity Theft and Access Device Fraud against Taryn A. Whitmoyer of Pineland Road, Birdsboro. In October 2009, an East Petersburg woman learned that her identity had been used to open and use a credit card, loan, and cell phone account. The total amount that was used from those accounts is $342. The complaint was filed before MDJ David Brian on January 30, 2009.

1) Public Drunkenness Arrest, 4:02 a.m. January 1, 2010, 500 Block Misty Drive (LT) – Marvin R. Plummer M/22 of Hollow Run Road, West Chester, was arrested for Public Drunkenness by Officer Michael Naff. Officers responded to a disturbance in the 500 Block of Misty Drive and became involved in an altercation. He was cited and released.

2) Simple Assault Arrest, 12:36 a.m. January 1, 2010, Tollgate Station Road (MT) – Officer Lee Billiter arrested Rudolfo L. Garcia M/34 of West Dundee, IL, for two counts of Simple Assault. Garcia punched his 33 year old girlfriend and her 11 year old son during an argument at a residence on Tollgate Station Road, Lancaster. Both sustained minor injuries. Garcia was arraigned before MDJ Willwerth, and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $45,000 bail.

3) Theft Arrest, 2:41 a.m. January 1, 2010, 222 Eden Road (MT) – Officer Jesse Crnkovic arrested Michael J. Fiorill M/33 of Blue Rock Road, Lancaster, following a disturbance at the Eden Resort, 222 Eden Road, at 2:41 a.m. January 1, 2010. Fiorill pulled a flat screen TV from the wall, damaging the TV and the wall, and left the hotel with the TV, a fire extinguisher, and a poinsettia. When confronted by the hotel manager, he tried to strike the manager and then fled on foot. Fiorill was apprehended by arriving officers after a brief foot pursuit. He was arraigned before MDJ Willwerth on charges of Theft, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct, and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

4) Public Drunkenness Arrest, 3:39 a.m. January 1, 2010, 1370 Manheim Pike (MT) – Dustin M. Stively F/28 of Arch Street, Ephrata, was arrested for Public Drunkenness by Officer Steven Newman. At 3:41 a.m. January 1, 2010, Stively caused a disturbance inside the Lyndon Diner, 1370 Manheim Pike. She was cited and released.

1) Access Device Fraud Arrest (MT) – Erica S. McCue F/24 of North Queen Street, Lancaster, was arrested for Access Device Fraud by Detective Robert Beck following an investigation into the theft and use of a Lititz man’s credit cards. The victim reported that his cards and money clip had been lost or stolen at an area business on December 18, 2009. The victim’s two cards were then used at numerous area businesses between December 23 and 29, 2009, to make purchases totaling $2700. Using information provided during one of the purchases, Detective Beck was able to identify McCue as the person who was using the cards. On December 30, 2009, police stopped a RRTA bus after receiving information that McCue was on the bus. She was taken into custody without incident and arraigned before MDJ Willwerth on two counts of Access Device Fraud and one count of Receiving Stolen Property. She was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.

2) Warrant Arrest, 1:05 p.m. December 31, 2009, 1296 Lititz Pike (MT) – Christopher M. Kipphorn M/21 of Knollwood Drive, Lancaster was arrested at 1296 Lititz Pike on an outstanding bench warrant after officers received information on his whereabouts. He was turned over to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department on the warrant.

3) DUI Arrest, 11:29 p.m. December 31, 2009, 1600 Block Lititz Pike (MT) – Edbert Laboy M/29 of Coventry Road, Lancaster, was arrested by Officer Lee Billiter for DUI after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Lititz Pike. He was released pending a summons.
